Personality:
Savian is an extremely quiet and reserved man, keeping to himself whenever possible. When addressing the students that attend his music class, he speaks softly and is almost inaudible unless they are paying direct attention. There are very few things that upset him, but when someone crosses the line he will raise his voice and shout at the student. This is an extremely uncommon concept and his students tend to treat him as he does, with kindness and respect.
He is not a violent person, preferring to speak rather than throw punches but when attacked he will not hesitate to defend himself or anyone else that may require aid. In a fight between students or staff he will take his place between them and use his shouting voice to get their attention. He may not look like the best fighter, but he is deceptively strong and agile; making it very hard to corner and hold him down for long periods of time.

History:
Savian was born to a single mother that struggled to balance between being a parent and being an artist. Sometimes she would be there to look after her son, and others she needed to go out and scrape up whatever she could to feed her child. Martha tried her hardest to keep her little boy fed and clothed, often going without food for days on end to keep his belly full. This self neglect began taking it's toll on her body, and she would always try to hide it from her young son. But she could only keep it a secret for so long.
By Savian's 10th birthday, he began showing signs of fatigue and weakness. Whenever Martha made an attempt to make him play outside, the sun almost always scorched his fair skin. She continued to stall and try again, but it was no use. She knew that it was only a matter of time before her little son would begin to thirst for human blood. Martha cursed herself for not telling Savian earlier and by the time he gained all of his permanent teeth, he would need to feed routinely or else he would die. However she felt that he would be too young to understand the severity of his condition and since he couldn't go outside, she decided to begin teaching him to play the cello. At first he was reluctant to pick up the instrument, but after a bit of persuading he finally gave in and began learning. After the first lesson, Savian was hooked and would spend hours on end playing the cello, forgetting about his desire to make friends and have fun. To him, all he needed was his mother and the instrument.
At 12, Savian was an expert at his instrument due to years of constant practice. He had shown a change in personality and maturity over the two years, so she found it appropriate to tell him the truth about his father and heritage. At first he didn't want to believe the story that she told, but eventually he came to understand. His father and mother genuinely loved each-other, but after all he was still a vampire. And with vampires come vampire hunters. When his father was in the middle of his weekly feeding, a vampire hunter assumed that Martha was being attacked. She tried her hardest to tell the man that he was harmless, but he wasn't listening. It was more for sport than for keeping the human safe. When the man saw her pregnant belly he began to put the two together and prepared to kill the vampire that began to grow in her womb, but he was stopped when Savian's dying father snapped his neck. In that final attempt to save his lover's life, he expended what little energy he had left and turned into the dust that slipped between her fingers.
Once she finished telling the story, she put a small necklace around his neck with a small vial as the pendant. The pendant was filled with dust that Martha took from her deceased lover's pile. That way, Savian would always have a bit of the father he never met close to his heart. The boy understood her sentiment, but he just couldn't feel any love for a man that he had never met. He considered giving it back to her, but instead he put it around his own neck just to make her happy.
Shortly after that, Martha decided that it was time for Savian to have his first feed. At first he refused, but once again she reminded him about his vampire roots and he needed it or else he would die. He was reluctant to bit her at first but with a bit of motherly cooing he eventually took his first bite. Once satisfied he took a step back to see his mother smiling at him, proud to see that her son was growing into a mature young man.
When Savian turned 14 she sent him off to Cross Academy to get his education, writing to him every week to see how he progressed. For the first week or so he was very uncomfortable but with help from the teachers he was adapting quite well. Savian graduated from the school with average grades in everything but music where he shined. And at 20 he was offered a teaching position after he proved himself a master of his craft.
At age 23, Savian began teaching music it Cross Academy for day and night class students alike. There were a few that just took the class for credit, some girls were just there to admire him but there were many there that wanted to play like he did. Although the cello is his area of expertise, he is also proficient in a number of different instruments.
Savian tries his hardest to keep in contact with his mother and sends in as much money as he can to keep her healthy and happy. She told him a number of times that she was happy enough watching her boy become a great man, but he felt obligated to take care of her after everything she had done for him. Eventually his mother took ill and died in a fire that engulfed her home. With everything burned to dust, Savian would protect the cello with his life and get extremely emotional if someone other than him attempts to handle it.
